Verdict
Todoist runs on practically every device you own, turns plain sentences into dated tasks, and costs $5 a month for the version most people want. The free plan is tight and some reviewers find it feels like a web app, but nothing else balances reach, speed and price this well.

Overview
Todoist says it is used by “tens of millions of people and teams”, and its download page explains part of the appeal: web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iPhone, iPad, Android, Apple Watch, Wear OS, browser extensions and email add-ons. Natural-language entry (“Submit report every Friday at 4pm”) is the signature feature.
Pro is $5/month billed yearly ($7 monthly) and unlocks the calendar layout, deadlines, custom reminders, task durations, the Task/Email/Filter Assist AI features and unlimited Ramble voice capture. The free Beginner plan stops at 5 personal projects and one week of activity history.
TechRadar (4.5/5, updated May 2025) praises the free tier and reasonable prices but wants better customer support; Zapier’s 2025 roundup likes the platform coverage while noting it “feels like a web app”.
