Verdict

Granola quietly listens to your computer’s audio, then turns your rough typed notes into a polished write-up — no bot announces itself to the other side. It works with any call app and now runs on Windows and phones. Speaker labels are generic, and the free plan only keeps 30 days.

Get it if

You’re in back-to-back video calls and want clean notes without asking everyone to admit a recording bot.

Skip it if

You need named speakers, video playback, or a long free history.

Overview

Granola’s trick is that it doesn’t join your meeting. It captures your device’s audio, so it works with Zoom, Google Meet, Teams or anything else, and uses the transcript to fill in the notes you typed yourself. Zapier notes you can hover a line in the summary to see the transcript context behind it.

It has grown fast: a $125M Series C at a $1.5B valuation was announced on its blog in March 2026, and it now runs on macOS, Windows, iOS, Android and Apple Watch, with calendar sync, pre-meeting briefs, AI chat across notes, MCP and an API.

Basic is free with 30 days of history; Business is $14 per user per month (the page doesn’t say whether that’s monthly or annual billing) and adds unlimited history and integrations like Notion and HubSpot. Zapier’s complaints: Speaker 1/Speaker 2 labels, no built-in transcript search, and no video.
